Well, a bit more than two months now since Logger came to his new home. It has been slow going, but he has slowly been transitioning from being an outdoor working dog to an indoor-living companion. About a week ago, he finally started sleeping indoors and, as much as he loved his fresh wood shavings, he seems to absolutely adore his fleece blankets. Biggest changes have been in his personality, going from affectionate but reserved when he arrived to an exuberant cuddle bug. Really think Logger loves having a human of his very own and he is a wonderful guy to have around.
How he and Nemo would interact was also big concern of mine, but they seem to enjoy each other's company. They enjoy their rides and walks together, hang out together in the yard, and Nemo is much more relaxed when Logger is around. Going from being surrounded by over a hundred dogs to one is pretty big, but Logger seems to enjoy having another dog to hang out with.

2017, off to a great start
Only partially sarcastic, and I am not referencing the giant cheese puff in the room.
Finally have a computer that is fully functional. Graphics card has been acting iffy for a while and finally shit the bed. Was saving up for a new on, and NewEgg was running a sale right when it happened so kinda lucked out. Well, sorta. My ancient monitor (I don't even remember when I got it, likely 10+ years old) keeps randomly flipping out and needing a few seconds timeout because it is having disputes with the information the graphics card is sending it... And then had a RAM chip go... followed by my wifi card... At least the RAM and wifi card die
Another chapter comes to a close
Bit of a story here, and it will involve some digressions and side-notes, but please bear with me.
Many years ago, think back in 2004 or 2005, I was looking for a movie to do a report on. I needed a copy of Mars Attacks and I hit damn near every movie rental and purchase place I could find. Last hope was this tiny, family owned place, and they happened to have a copy (on DVD no less.) Just snagged the movie and felt something tug on the leg of my pants. There was this adorable little husky puppy with the most oversized paws I had ever seen (and having grown up with corgis, that is saying something.) As soon as I noticed him, he trie
Hes a lumberjack and he is ok...
And, hopefully, tomorrow will be the long trip out to the kennel to bring him home with me. This is Logger. Not embarrassed to admit I fell in love when I first saw his picture and he turned out to be even more adorable in person. More importantly, he and Nemo took to each other surprisingly quickly.
I hope that he will sleep all night and play all day. If he decides that he wants to put on women's clothing and hang around in bars, he will have my full support.
Last storm of winter (hopefully)
Been a rather mild winter so far; very little snow, fairly warm, and not too bad. Heck, even this last storm isn't too awful for most of the state. Unfortunately, I'm right in the bullseye of the nasty part. Winter storm warning from 2AM tomorrow till 8PM and 5-12 inches of snow dropping in a few hours. Tons of fun...
Bad part is that I had big plans for Monday. At the beginning of March, made my first serious steps towards adopting a new canine companion. Found a decent place, have made a couple visits, and I think I have found one that I really like and will make a good friend for myself and Nemo. New dog is a 10 year old, Alaskan h
