Natural History Museum: Paris.
Bad lighting, no flash alowed, no tripod allowed, unknown lighting and have been so far unable to fix the color with Photoshop. And the french person near the exhibit ran me off when I tried to drop my plush down for a picture. <grumble, grumble> Normally try to be a nice tourist, but if I ever get a chance to go back to Paris it wont be that way. Tacky hawaiian shirt, tan shorts, socks, and sandals and be the stupid american tourist that doesnt pay attention to signs... Just to get a picture that will turn out.

Have you been to theTasmanian Museum (i work there, and get to hang out with the tassie tiger all day) and seen the thylacine display there? There's the video of the last one in captivity, and five bottled embryos (which is kind of disturbing) of the thylacine in various stages of growth, among other things relating to it. Such a sad history.

Unfortunately, I have yet to make it to Australia. One of the places I really would like to go, but just cannot seem to be able to put the time & money together to make the trip. Where you work is actually one of the top 3 places I have on my "Must see" list; partly for the display of the developing thylacines (might be disturbing, but I do find it rather fascinating.)
Yes, it is a sad history.

Is it ok if I use some of your taxidermy as a guide for a picture I have in mind?
If not, I'll head off to the Melbourne Museum :) I thought if it was ok, I'd start ASAP

Go ahead, thats one of the reasons I posted the stuff I have seen in the museums. Always good to hear that they are of use to people.

Its not as neat as the actual display, and Im a perfectionist when it comes to certain things (thylacines being one of them.)
